Domain History
From around 2000 to 2003 I was known in the girl-gamer community as Faris, taking my pseudonym from the cross-dressing pirate princess, Faris Scherwiz of Final Fantasy V. Back then I didn't purchase a domain of my own as the only one I really wanted, Faris.nu, had be snapped up by someone who never even used it!
Over five years later, after checking the name on a whim, I found Faris.nu finally free and decided to buy it for the nostalgia. Although I no longer go by the name Faris on the web, I know that my 17 year old self would be proud that I finally own my own holy grail of domain names!
Faris.nu now forms part of the hub, housing my videogame related shrines, fan sites and projects, and is hosted by Dreamhost.
Layout
The first layout for Faris.nu features the character design for Aryll, Link's sister from Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. I wanted a simple, modern design for the domain as I'm not really a fan of overly fussy blends.
I'm a real advocate of web standards and CSS based design, so this site is compliant with HTML 4.0 Strict (transitional is for pussies) and aims to be as accessible and user friendly as possible! The site renders correctly in all modern browsers, and is also viewable in older (read: shit) browsers like Internet Explorer 6.
